This code is a mess. I've pulled up the instructions on how to diagnose it and it's quite long. Basically there are about 18 possible causes for code 0455 and you would have to go through the process of elimination to weed through them. The instructions say troubleshoot 1448 first. 21 pages of instructions all in all.
Some members might have luck with cleaning out some hoses or the vent valve, but I'm just too lazy. I'm going to the dealer with mine.
How bad has your mileage dropped? I've lost about 5 MPG city.

milage
Problem is intermittent. Possibly vent valve not closing reliably?
I have not noticed mpg suffering yet. Does anyone know where the vent is located so I could clean it. I hate to waste a day going to the Dealer and hassel with extended warranty with something I could cheaply fix.

actually your best bet for this combination of codes would be to simply clear the dtc memory and drive the car a little bit.
P0455 - evap gross leak - usually a loose gas cap
P1448 - vent control valve - sometime a vent valve
the vent valve code can actually pop up in relation to the gas cap code. as a 2002 your car is equipped with the new style vent valve which is much less prone to failure than past designs have been (although they can occasionally go bad)
if it were me: i'd clear it and drive - if it comes back, just replace it (not a big job by any means)
