For those of u who want to clear HIDs...

I woudn't waste the money on the tap plasic blinker covers, I ordered them and put them in when i had the headlights open and it didn't match or look good. I ended up putting nothing in place so its just empty and looks pretty decent i think. If the plastic was ridged like the other ones in the assembly they would be ok but its just smooth plastic that looks gay.

One more thing, don't tap into the 24 pack of beer that u brought over for your buddy to help you until the project is finished. My buddy put my headlights in the oven on 350 with no timer! luckily i happend to get up and throw out a beer away and noticed a puddle of melted plastic in the oven on the cookie sheet! Nevertheless, it was just the bottom part of the headlight that melted and it all ended up being ok.

I've seen a bunch of pics, and I think the clear plastic piece makes it look way better...very stock looking...

Well i seen it in person and if it had the ridges like the light above it, then it would look matching and good.

just my 2 cents.

trey man I remember your post saying that you about to do it one weekend coming up and I know people told you about the malibu lights from Home depot that when cut look exactly like the parking lights.

Hey man, was it hard at all? I'm going to get DDEs pretty soon.

Surprised you didn't go with the Malibu lens if you don't like the look of the Tap. Had you not seen pictures of the tap lens previously?

And 350? Wow, I woulda flipped. Lucky you didn't end up with a bubbling pile of plastic!

I finally posted pics of my new cleared out HID's on my 2000. Check out the before and after pictures on my homepage. Clearing them out brings out the eyes. I think it looks more like eyes.

Man, I need to do this mod soon. All of these clear HID's makes my stock amber turn signals look terrible.

where do you get DDEs and malibu lenses to replace the amber lenses? Also are the DDEs hard to install?

I Know its scary to put your headlights in the oven but its pretty easy and as u can see there is a margin of error, i put mine in for to long and for to hot. EVerybody i talked to said I was crazy for trying this, i think its worth and thanks org!
