anybody rolled their fenders? How do you do it? Is it a do it yourself job or do i need a professional to do it for me? I'm getting 18s and want to make sure I dont rub so I want to roll my fenders. A writeup would be nice too if someone has it. thanks

 

ok umm you def dont have to roll fenders for 18's you can fit 20's on maximas, and second dont ever roll your fenders youll end up cracking your paint

Yeah, thanks. That's QUITE obvious from the first poster's comments. What I want to know is what is involved-i.e-cutting away parts of the fenders.

 

i'm interested in this also. my car is dropped 2 inches in the rear and right now there is no fingergap between the rear tire and the fender, and i'm rolling around in my stock 16's. I want to upgrade to 19's one day but i'm afraid that they won't fit b/c of the drop. i would also like to put spacers on the rear but if i do that, it would slam right into the fender the first time that i hit a hard bump. so, please, do tell someone.thanks

mike, y would u roll your fenders... my wheels/tires are fatter then yours and i only rub occasionaly....

 

I'm not sure if I'm going to do it yet.. but just in case I rub like crazy when i put on the 18s.

 

What size tires and wheel offset do you have?

he has 275/40/18 rears and 245/40 fronts... I'm planning on putting on 255/45/18 all around on mine

 

Old Skool = baseball bat.

Requires two people. One puts the bat between the tire and fender. The other rolls the car backward. Proper bat positioning will roll the fender as the tire will cause the bat to roll from front to back.

Of course, too much can cause the fender to bow it you do it wrong. Use at own risk....

 

All of these DIY methods seem scary. I'd have a shop do it...

 

fortunately i didnt have to roll mine. All 4 of my wheels are tucking and i have no rubbing so far. im on 225/40/18 tires....

 

Offset has an impact. Mines 40mm with 235-40-18's and no problems. I should be fine with an additional 5mm or so adapter as well...

 

Man i don't know what series tire your running but my car is dropped 3.25 in the front and 3" in the back and i am running 19x8 and 10 mm spacers in the back. and i still have a 1/4 of a inch finger gap. It won't slam into the fender because wheels dont travel straight up upon impact, they will safely tuck into the fender.

 

You dont need to roll em. Plenty of peeps here running 19s and 20s slammed w/o rubbing, me being one of those. My rear is slammed and tucked. Finger gap is actually NEGATIVE 1
and no rubs..
