Finally Did it, 2X 12" Subs w/ Stock HU!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to say thanks to all those who answered my whole slew of questions (some of them probably stupid)

But Its finally done ... I've got Two 12" MTX subs hooked up to my stock Bose head unit! Only cost me $15 in hardware too!

Right now I'm only running one single 2 Channel Amp, but I'll be putting in a second 2 Channel Amp so I can run, each 12" bridged!

Yay!!! Now my Maxima finally bumps!!!

Pics will be coming as soon as my buddy (who took them) sends em to me!

Questions, concerns ... pass them this way ... I'll answer them to the best of my knowledge!

Right now I'm only running one single 2 Channel Amp, but I'll be putting in a second 2 Channel Amp so I can run, each 12" bridged!

Good job. I am interested in pics as well. There is a "show us what's in your trunk" thread in the audio forum. Post them there for the audio people as well.

i recently installed a amp that i'm running with my stock h/u as well. 250 watt mtx pushing one 12" in a sealed Qlogic box. provides just the right amount of bump for me.

A lil more advice about the rattle. Find a way to secure your spoiler (if you have one) cuz that sucker flexes hardcore. Also, put some sort of padded sticky tape or something behind your license plate to stop the rattle there as well. I put 2 pieces behind each bottom corner of my plate and it stopped the rattle.

There is no soldering involved. Just use a PAC adaptor. Easy install, no cutting and you have quality RCA outs. Not a crappy hi-low converter. I've been selling these for two years now but no one seems to know about these.

Thats what i said 2 weeks ago when i added my subs to the factory bose system.... but now with all rattles, and the way over powering bass, i need to do a full system upgrade. i have all the componets but i need to buy a new deck, since i sold my old one due to money problems.

hooking up subs to factory system was a pita, i thought we could just tap into the factory sub, but it didn't work, so what you have to do is look behind the HU, and figure out what wires go to the rear speakers, and then tap into those wires right before the main amp in the trunk.

but i noticed when doing so, that the bass is not very good, and varys too much. as in, the bass is stronger at lower volumes, but there is less vocals, and when you put it up higher, the bass does not hit as hard, but you can actually hear the words to the song. i think it is due to the deck, and i am getting kind of fed up with all of it... i definetly need to take a day or two a rip everything apart and install all new componets.

Good job on the instal though.. enjoy the new and improved blose!

Here's what I built with my stock Bose Head unit, using the PAC Bose interface.

Welcome to the Stock HU Bass club . I had best buy install my inline coverter from the stock HU. Currently running 2 15" fosgates with a bd1000 and 2 1 Farad caps. And just like Blkmax95c the Bass dose vary because at low vol. the bass is great but when you crank it, it just gets lost. My amp came with a bass ****, which helps. Also I re-record my cds thru nero to be a little louder so that I avoid that confused bass from the HU.

Hell rattles aint the word. I Got noies from everywhere. the Rear deck both Right and Left front doors. allot of squeeks from the dash. somthing under the hood. looose change in the ash tray and the keys in the ignition. I don't worry about it anymore because system will be comming out soon due GAS prices. loosing weight in the trunk to help gas miles.

I used to rock mine with 3 JL W6 10s in the trunk, with some dynomat in the trunk where it rattled and on the rear deck. It sounded wicked, ran it with a Orion HCCA amp, now I'm runing one 10" Kicker Comp CVR DVC with a really old Fosgate Punch 360, I love Fosgate amps, its about 7 years old and still punches like a ****

I have the exact same setup...stock hu and 2 12s. My **** is ratttling so bad lately it sounds like **** on certain songs. So I removed the stock bose sub to port the bass from the trunk and that made it a lttle better but i think it's the whole rear deck that flexes...any advice?

check the audio faq's. there is a rear deck fix on the last page. it works great. especially when you "port" the rear deck
