Err...so You already got the car, as do most of us so im personally not worried. As far as im concerned, they stopped making REAL maximas in 2003...and turn off your caps lock.

yeah, in my opinion the 6th gens are not so much maximas as they are "maltimas". nissan made the mistake of bringing the altima up to the performance levels of a maxima and not upgrading the maxima. why spend more money on a 6th gen max when you can get the same performance in a cheaper altima?

i think that nissan needs to step up and make some changes to the maxima line. i.e. all wheel drive and maybe a V-8. I'm saying this b/c the altimas have taken the place that maxima used to hold; a powerful four door sports sedan. the altimas and maximas are just too close to each other performance wise for both of them to sale well.
just my 2 cents. let the flaming begin...

i agree w/ himanse... they should have stopped making maximas w/ the 2k3 model. im my eyes, maximas are already on a pedistal w/ the vq and all... maybe discontinuing would give our cars legendary status

Nissan expect Maxima sale to go up with the 2004 design? at the same time, bump up Altima with Nice interior (2005 models), and add a performance SE-R model?? Please, shoot the guy that predicts Maxima sales will go up

Maxima can still be there with upgraded Altima. However, must be something VERY Different.

-ATTESSA (AWD system)
-RWD
-280+HP (Much better tuned VQ35DE)
-Re-design (Please contact Nissan Japan on how to design cars)
-Drop the 4speed auto and make 5 speed automatic standard, keep the 6spd option
-Factory performance parts ( Come on NISMO!!, or there's always Stillen~ )
-Independent rear suspension!

Thats about all I have to say about that.........

They won't stop making the 'Maxima' . If they have to they will stop making the A34 boat.

So we now own collectors items. Who cares, unless of course they are going back to a better design such as the 3-5th gens.

who cares if we loose the maxima name... what happens if they stop making maximas? we already bought the maxima. i've taken the depreciation and the bad service, if they make another maxima, will i buy it? Nope.... the only possible car is the 350, and i'd rather go w/ infiniti's 35 coupe....

serious, they shoulda dropped the maxima name at the end of the 5th gen. Now theyre just dragging it through the mud. Im glad if they drop it. Leave the Hp/Tq & power to weight family sedan alone.

I'd like to see them put the Titan 5.4l V8 in a Maxima for production. If Nissan wants to keep up they need to put out a Max with 300+ HP and AWD as a option.

Dont worry, the 6th gen is just like the 4th gen. which means the 7th gen will be absolutely awesome

Not that I wanna be flamed for this, but nissan does need to step up to the plate and make a better product...times have changed soo much that if they wanna keep up they need to make some drastic changes. I like what nismotech said...and agree with just about everything...now here is where I think I might get flamed, but lets take a look at the mitsubishi lancer evo 8...they offer rsb, fstb, rstb and tons of upgrades for suspension, about the same hp I have now in my 01 se. Back in 98 when I owned a Sentra, Maxima was always my dream car...but now I see that nissan is fallin behind, maxima used to be the fastest car you could buy for 30K, now there is so much competition, they need to rethink their idea and figure out some way to make the car better. I would like to trade mine in, but unless they do something drastic, I may get the lancer evo (whatever number its up to when I decide to trade in)...I dont wanna, but things need to change

I am not going to "loose" my Maxima. I'm going to do everything in my power to keep it tight.

Dude, get a life. If your knowledge of spelling and gramar is as vast as your knowledge of future Nissan products, then we have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Oh, and 18 whole posts to go along with your screen name. That's encouraging...
