New OEM Brake Pads & Detailing questions

I just installed new Brembo rotors (with new Nissan OEM brake pads) because these were supposed to be the quietest brake pads for the 2000 Max, but I'm getting squealing noises when I press the brake, is this supposed to happen the first couple of days or so when the brake pads are new??????? Also I thought the OEM brakes were ceramic the dealer told me their metallic.

I just completed the side marker and fog light rewire and now I want to get notice with a nice wet look detail wax and high reflections polish finish. In your opinion what is the good stuff on the market before out spending money on any old wax and polish product?

What is the best factory wheel cleaner and polish also, I don't have a million bucks but I want my car to look like I do - you feel me.

Thanks in advance for all your comments

No, the squealing noise isnt normal (just put Brembo rotors and OEM pads on my 2K GLE a few weeks ago). Did you remember to remove the shims off the old pads and put them on the new pads? There are two on the back of each pad and once the get dirty, they're sometimes easy to miss.

DanL,

Thanks for the feed back, I had a Nissan dealer put them on. They told me that the squealing should go away when the brakes heat up. I'll take your question back to them Monday morning.

Thanks,

Should be no squeal, hot or cold. Nissan has two kinds of brake pads. Don't get the Nissan Key Value pad, it's not as good as the original pad that came with the car.

I just had the Brembo rotor installed this morning with Bendix Ceramic pads. So far no noise. I has the stillen xdrilled rotors taken off...boy they were beaten up pretty bad by the axxis pads too.

oh btw your best bet for wax would be klasse or zaino. Then coat it with 1 or a few layers of any decent carnuba wax for that deep shine.

aussie983 ,

That's exactly what the dealer told me - It should go a way when I use them for a while or when they heat up. Your brakes are semi-metallic also?

Thanks for the info on the wax.
