Ignition Coils and Plugs - I did it!
Ignition Coils and Plugs - I did it!
Thank you again. This site is awesome.
I read alot of the posts here and I read a how-to on spark plug replacement. I purchased my plugs and coils from DaveB (310 delivered to my door) and I did the job this morning.
It took me (novice, female, mom of 4 sons with no mechanical inclination) 1 1/2 hours only because I didn't know where the rear set was and after I found them, they were a bit more difficult because of limited access. The time spent and the education was very much worth it compared to 500 for parts and 300 for labor that was quoted by a number of dealers in my area.
I have no problem paying for a job well done and paying a price that is comparable to the amount of labor expended. After seeing what it takes to do this job and knowing that the professionals have better tools and more knowledge than I have, the quotes I received were just plain absurd.
Thank you again everyone responsible for this site. I will definitely make a donation to keep you up and running in case I need you again. My 2000SE has 105K miles on it and I've got my eye on the Z, so I know I'll be back.

Great work. Its nice to know when you've saved a whole bunch of money esp for something this easy, which the dealer would charge $300 for.
Btw, do u have the links for changing the spark plugs?

PS, The instructions are for 4th Gen, but it got me pointed in the right direction. I think the only part different was a 10mm instead of an 8mm.
