5th Gen Suspension (TEIN) questions...
I bought an 03 with 12,000 miles on it. I am thinking of ordering the Tein S springs for it. I wanted to know if I can drop it on the Teins and still keep my stock struts and shocks for a while. I know in my '00 I had the Eibachs and my stock shocks for about 40K and then had to have them replaced. I don't mind installing them 30K(or later) after I install my springs, and I want to use the funds that I have on many things as opposed to one thing. Any info?

I always missed my max... I always tell Kloogy, man I should have never sold that car! But eehhh, whaddayagonnado... I just ordered some rims. 3-piece forged and triple chrome-plated and am a little tight on cash. Man, I wanna get sooo many things going. My rims, the stereo, springs, struts, you know how it is... But I gotta pace myself. Its funny cuz I never really posted that often after I sold the max (went back into lurker mode) and I have been watching everyone from before come and go and mod after mod after mod. I already tinted the sucka all limo. Just cant wait.
Honestly man, if your gonna get Tein S. techs get some struts to go along with them. The OEM struts just dont have enough dampening to control the higher spring rate of the S.techs and your gonna be bouncing all over the place. Do it right the 1st time, cus your gonna have to take it apart and do it again later if you dont
As for the S.techs they are just fine, Toks or GR-2's will work just fine with them but if I personally had to do it all over again. Id just go with the JIC's.
Good luck setting up a system to match Giovanni's
thats a whole diff topic though
I think the reason his can be heard everywere is the fact that its firing straight up. Mine is rear-fired and inside your vision is getting messed with, while outside you cant really tell at all

Tein H Springs
Well, if you don't want to worry about the stock struts you can always use the Tein H Springs which have a little bit less of a drop at 1.6" front and 1" in the rear. This is what I got for my 03 Maxima.

BTW: Gio's setup is from cwally's old max, I'm sure he'll have something on par.

Yo Carlos, ever heard of the RE XXX
I think just one 12 will out do Gio's setup with the same power. You can however get two just for the hell of it buat $400ish a sub its not exactly cheap. The look pretty good too.www.respl.com to check em out...
wutup carlos, welcome back
Gio's got 1 stock strut... haha..mine
he seems to be doing ok.
You can use stock struts for a while, but I really wouldn't recommend it. You're gonna bottom out and have a bouncy azz ride.

Tein S springs will kill those struts in about 1000 miles or so. Might as well wait on the install until you have all the right parts to do the job! Doing it twice sucks...and most likely, the strut will go at the worst possible time.
Guys, thanks for the advice. I just ordered the S-Tech springs and the Illumina adjustables from www.southwestautoworks.com Very cool guys there who gave me some more advice and answered some more questions.
Thanks for the replies.

You will love the springs, and the struts I've heard nothing but good things about! Definitely keep me posted on the progress and the ride. Like I said earlier, I'm going to switch to the Illuminas ASAP...
