This is just a "prototype" of a cover I'm working on to replace the stock cover that sticks out like a sore thumb. They're made out of 18 guage steel that has been powder coated glossy black. The pictures were taken at high resolution, but shrunk and compressed so that they load faster. If anybody wants, I'll put the full blown versions on my site so you can see them in better detail. Let me know what you think, I have plenty of metal if anybody wants some when I'm done. I'm going to make a piece that fits the open space in between the fog lights as well.

I know that I already have fog lights, but I think that it looks kind of funny. How did you cut it?

hacksaw. like i said, i'm not finished yet. in my opinion though, it looks better than the cheesey plastic covers that come stock.

Hey Adam, I already have fog lights in mine. Keep on designing, I think you're on to something. Once you clean it up on the edges a little, it'll look sweet. Paint them black on a white max and they'll look nice, Silver on a Black max would look sweet. Just make it look clean and you'll have GXE owners banging at your door.

why don't you just buy the factory fogs instead of the painstaking process?
i think after some modifications, it'll look good. maybe make it flat and just make it look like one of those grill-crafts grills?

factory fogs = $200 + my time to install
metal covers = $0 + my time to install

plus its really never foggy here.

how about getting rid of the plastic inserts and running a dual cone CAI setup where each cone pulls air in from those holes...i'll bet you will get huge gains with that type of forced induction setup...kinda like how the motorola maxima has it but that only has one

is it possible to make inserts for the front airdam from that mesh but to make it look like on the Jaguar XKR and the XJR where it like comes out a little... it looks much nicer than just flat... is there one that has the holes a little smaller? where did u buy that metal from? i wanna see maybe i can come up with something...

the metal is just flat, perforated steel that i get from work. I'm sure that what you are talking about is possible, but I haven't really seen a picture of it so I can't be for sure.

Burner - as far as the CAI, I was planning on running a OSCAI setup and using the metal grills as protcetion from road debris and small woodland creatures.
