Last year I bought a 2001 Max SE auto and even since there is a light whisteling/sqeeling sound coming from the engine bay at highway speeds. Its wierd, when on the highway, if i take my foot off the gas i dont hear anything, but when I very lightly tap the gas, I hear a very light sqeel, whistle. When I press the gas even more, it goes away. It drives me crazy, any ideas on what it could be. By the way, the car is stock, for now. Could it be loose belts?

 

double check that it's stock and doesn't have some kind of intake mods....GAB, OSCAI, etc....

if not....also, check and make sure you have no leaks in the stock air box/intake manifold....make sure all intake connections are tight.

sounds like you have an intake air leak of some sort.
