Believe it or not I noticed a differance quick.I dont know if your cars do it,but, when I used to shift my car to early and it was at like 1 1/2 grand I had serious LAG, than a 2 grand it would kick into a power band #1, now that improved the LAG dramatically.

well they're correct about the "box". i believe its for the fuel vapor recovery system (dont quote me though, ill find out for you if you want) but you can run dual exhaust.what you'll have to do is get a hook-up at a muffler store or somebody that can weld good, Buy the apexi N-1 exhaust (it has two mufflers welded together and run a straight pipe or what the call "b" pipe all the way to the downpipe, Just dont take off the main cat because it has o-2 sensors that run to it. the apexi n-1 is kinda expensive but i have it on my car and i love it.The opening at the end of the muffler(where the tip is) is a tight fit but it works and looks good too.
OR you can get down right crazy and have the muffler come out of the center of the bumper like the way corvettes have them, if you do that you can get the 20th ae edition ground effects and take out the center section (yes the back peace is made up of three differant pieces) so it will be easy top do this mod.
dont mind the spelling, failed english, lol
If i can help you in any other way w/b

On the dual exhaust...

Just have a muffler welded where the resonator is, have the two pipes follow along, until where the normal bend is, and have the pipes exit on each side of the spare tire well. It wouldn't be a true dual exhaust, but, the look is similar

7.5 hp at the wheels, not bad for a simple mod! Is the only modification to the car the removal of the main cat or do you have a y-pipe, intake, etc?

I bought the Cattman Y-pipe (as good/better than the Stillen and cheaper). They are running a special on the federal emission version for $399 (be warned that they are on back order). But I got the supercharged version (3" compared to 2.5" for the standard y-pipe). Since you a doing a custom exhaust, I would recommend the 3".

Yep, the main cat is between the y-pipe and muffler. The pre-cats are located in the y-pipe.
