H&R springs vs. Progress springs

Does anyone know the ride difference between the H&R and Progress springs? I have only had H&R on my car and now I have a different maxima and need springs but may want something other than the H&R springs. I was considering Progress since their drop is slightly lower than H&R but not too low. Can you tell me if there are major ride comfort differences between those two? Which is stiffer? Thanks a lot.

How is the ride quality? Is it bouncy or is it smooth?

Progress on kyb....wen i drove out of the shop, i really couldnt tell the ride difference from my new drop from stock. Smooth, not bumpy and lower! but then again, i live in so.cal with no pot holes or bad roads.

I have been debating the same thing myself. I have been running Maxspeeds for a year and a half and would like something different.

Progress - lower but slightly stiffer
H&R - Butter smooth ride but doesn't lower much.

BTW AKOGAN do you have any side profile shots of your car that you can post?

I switched from H&R to Progress approx. 2 months ago. The ride is very similar to the H&Rs (maybe 5% stiffer) but the drop looks way better. This is my third set of springs - eibach (too harsh), H&Rs (not low enough), & Progress (perfect).

Progress is the way to go.

You live in NYC? What struts are you running (and the settings if they are illuminas)? Was the ride on the H&R's better (smoother, easier on the gluteus maximus)? Have there been any negative effects from the switch?

Yes, I live in NYC. I've been running Tokico HPs for 15k miles, but I'll be switching to the Illuminas for the adjustability factor. Progress are just as smooth as the H&Rs but they did stiffen up the ride a tiny bit; although none of my common passengers were able to feel a difference. As for the gluteus maximus, I thought the H&Rs were a bit stiff, but the Progress didn't create a significant change in harshness. Negative effects - NONE. If I were to do it all over again, I would definately choose the Progress.

Adjustable

The adjustable factor is nice but its also very difficult with the Maxima. Just remember for the rears, you have to take the carpet out, or at least pull it back each time you want to adjust the shock. Thats why I went with the Tokico Blues.

2k2nyc, do you have any pics with H&R's and pics with Progress. I would like to compare the two. Thanks.

Bumpski on the pics.

G35 18's on Maxspeed springs. I just need to get some idea of what the Max would look like on H&R's or Progress springs. Since there is a similar thread has anyone with Progress had problems with the rear bottoming out with people in the back?

Housecor's link is a very good side profile comparison of the different springs available for the 5th gen Maxima but it certainly does not provide details on the ride characteristics of each set of springs.
