Spy Shots! Custom Maximas New SKYLINE BODY KIT!

I just took these pics yesterday at the Carlisle Custom Compact show here in Harrisburg. Custom Maxima had a booth setup with this 5th Gen in it. They claim its been in the works for 9 months and just came out of the body shop last weekend to be ready for this show. In my opinion the kit is nice...but the made a huge mistake by putting their name stamped into the side of it. Of course you could have that filled in, but thats just more time and $$. The rear is nasty, but hte front would work...and the sides are nice too.

EDIT! Sorry guys as you can see from my sig my image host is down...someone PLEASE host these pics!! Send me a PM and I'll email them over to you!

That looks UGLY. The rear looks like teddibear's custom rear section. Kit is to boxy for the "roundness" of our cars. That red actually looks good on a Maxima, thats about the only good thing on that car.

I too like the rear, maybe because of the dual exhaust pipes?

Ok well, the kit's not great looking, but we don't need to start bashing on Custom Maxima. This is a company that has done lots for us and many of us have bought from. I guess what I'm saying is criticize the kit not the company.

After almost a year of waiting, CM shows exactly what all the hype was about - NOTHING! The front bumper replacement has strong sharp cut-you-like-a-knife angles when nothing on the rest of the car fits that. The side skirts and rear actually look descent even though the project car doesn't have the side skirts on and true dual exhaust on the 5th is almost impossible.

Now after they go back to the drawing boards they should consider keeping the overall shape but smooth out all the lines on the front bumper, remove custom enterprise logo, design the rear section to either fit an HKS/Greddy Evo/Powertech easily, and put the side skirts on a car so we can see them. What is the chance of ANY of this happening? Slim to none.

I like it. it's better than some body kits that are available to us now!!! yes, it's different, but that doesn't make it ugly.

Thank you to Custom Enterprise for taking a chance!!

its okay..good job to CM for the effort..anyone else notice the small vent in the fender..not really feelin the stamped logos but it definitely beats puting "stickers" all over it..wish the sides/rear would be more aggressive

Can someone post up that Photoshop of the kit from forever ago? Just curious how this one matches up to that.

Wow! it's certainly different. it doesn't "flow" with the max to well. i mean it doesnt follow the smooth, rounded contours of maximas. still nice to see something different for our cars

ugh!
that front end is absolutely disgusting!
sides are "ok"...
rear is not that bad.

But that front end - quite possibly....no....definitely the ugliest front end kit I have ever seen on a maxima. The ricers out there will love it though....that thing screams "rice". It doesn't go with the car at all - looks like it was made for some other kind of car - something boxy.

shame shame shame. Can't wait to see it on someone's car so i can pity them.

I would get the rear bumper and the skirts but for the front an MT lip or the Octane Front.

Maybe it's the color that screams "rice"....can someone photoshop that to be Majectic Blue....Please...

I think the rear and sides look pretty good, but hate the front. Is it just me or does it look very similar with that new body kit that has been for sale in the GD forum for a long time. I don't think the rear will sell very good, because I don't think people want to shell out so much money for a dual exhaust that has no gain. I probably would be willing to get the sides though.

CM front Sides can't even tell they are there. Back is OK but probably have to cut for the Greddy.

The Octane front bumper look way better. But of all kit's the stillen is the best looking, But that's my personal opinion. Stillen front with rest of kit is the kit I am sticking too.

i don't know why, but in that pic... with the angel eyes it looks like cataracts or something.

I think the over all look is just strange.

my 2 cents.

To the person who asked about the original photoshop which this kit was supposed to look like..here's what the chop was:

(IIRC SI wasn't even contacted, much less given a free kit, as was promised by CM when they were looking for kit designs.)

I think the front looks really good, although I don't liike the logos at all. Teddibear's front still looks better though.

The side skirts look cool OFF the car, but they suck b/c they when it's ON the car, they don't make it look any lower!

The rear is EXACTLY like teddibear's, and honestly, I never liked it.

Does anyone know how the hell they did the dual exhaust on it? Maybe the car looks a bit odd because its in a painful red color. If someone can photoshop it in another color well be able to see if it looks better. Oh, and maybe leave the stock headlights on instead of the projector.

Except that Audi is H O T

The back looks ok and the I like the sideskirts, how you can hardly tell they are there, but they curve under too much and don't match the box style of the front and back..
