I own a 2001 Maxima GLE 45,000. It is 100% stock.

I am only getting 235 miles from a full tank of premium gasoline!
Can someone please help diagnose a potential problem I have.


My wife drives the car with the baby, so she isnt speeding around, or heavy on the foot. CAn you expects please often some advise


DO I REPLACE

oxygen sensors (I have 3)
Mass air flow sensor
Fuel filter?

IN ADDITION THE CAR HESITATES WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1-2 AND FROM 2-3 , It is like a second delay..Why?? DOES ANYONE KNOW?

COULD IT BE THE TCM???????? SHOULD I REPLACE IT? HOW DO I DIAGNOISE SUCH A PROBLEM.??? WILL I GET AN READ FROM THE COMPUTER????

PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE...I DONT WANT TO RELY ON MY DEALER

Should I replace them all? Is that the problem?

Read the TSB sticky at the top of this forum, and have your car checked out for codes as well (there may be no SES light)...

the shifting issue would have to do with the solenoids and tcm. the solenoids were replaced for 1-2 shift and tcm for 2-3. just as a side note, if you have a 2k1, then you have 4 o2 sensors. all US 2k1 are cali spec and have 4 o2 sensors. also check the condition of the air filter, psi in the tires along with the other maintenance issues already mentioned. check out this site for a good amount of diy repairs/replacements.

I just replace all 6 coils and spark plugs and picked up almost 2mpg. My mileage is about 370 a tank for 15 gallons. My 2k Max has 79k miles on it.

My 03 Max has been getting the same mileage since day 1

about 280 per tank

it has 18K

what can I tell a mechanic to do so that i can get better mileage.

I am not good as a mechanic so I will definitely have to have someone do it for me

any help would be appreciated
