Fixed hood rattle

Tried numerous things. Adjusting bumpstops, weather stripping, adjust the lock mechanism. Nothing worked. So I said F it and got some clear plastic packing tape, cut the tape down the middle and then wrapped it tightly around the hood latch just enough to make it a little bit thicker. You cant even tell its there. Closed the hood gently and now its very snug....no rattle what so ever.

i should try that, my entire hood flaps around going 70-80mph...

Same here.

I think one reason is that Nissan decontented the rubber hood stop pads on each side rail of the engine bay. Early 2000s have them, but that's about all.
