dirt in fuel bay (where fuel cap is)
ok, i remember this being posted, but I cant find it now...I am getting sand in the fuel chamber (basically the place you put the fuel cap on after filling up) I went to nissan and asked them about a guard for under the rear wheel, and they said that they wont put one on because it is only for people in the midwest and that the car isnt supposed to have anything under it to prevent dirt from getting up there because the overfill from the fuel drains out there...
So, can someone tell me exactly what its called that I am supposed to get, and how I can make them put it on...they told me to clean it with a rag and see if it comes back, and it did. I really dont wanna run the risk of getting dirt into the fuel, but everytime I fill up, theres dirt in the black thing where I fill up with gas. I really love these forums, beyond maybe a few questions that I guess noone knew the answer to (prolly cuz I didnt explain well enough) everyone here has been great and really helped me out in doing things myself.

I found these part numbers - 01553-09321 (4 clips) and 17290-2Y000 (1 protector) in a copy of an old post. I won't guarentee the accuracy of the part numbers. I got the parts from my dealer and installed it myself. The clips push into predrilled holes inside the fender well. It took maybe 5 minutes (4 of those to position it). My parts man couldn't find these in the fuel system diagrams, but found them in a different area (maybe body parts). I don't remember the cost, but it was fairly cheap. I've had no dirt since I installed it 2 years ago. Hope this helps.
