New Tires

Im sure its been asked so many times, so I appologise in advance. I need new tires, and I want as many peoples' opinions on new tires as I can get. I am looking for a really good all season tire, sort of along the lines of the pilot sport a/s. any ideas? Im looking to keep the stock size, as im really not wanting to upgrade the actual wheels. any imput would really help!!!

thanks!

I think for the money, you can't beat Khumo's. That's what I'm going with.

How many miles did you get out of the Potenzas? I'm at 30k with no problems of any kind so far and tread depth shows 7/32 left.

I'm looking at Pilot Sport A/S when the time comes.

Pilot Sport A/S. In one word... AWESOME. Dry or wet. I'm really impressed with the tires in the rain. The tread on these tires greatly reduces the chance to hydroplane. I got mine at Tire Rack 4 months ago. Good luck...

I had those on my konigs 17s for a little under 2 years. Overall for the low cost they are great tires. but after they were low on tread they got noisey and obviously worse in the water.

Now I just got Bridgestone/Firestone Fuzions all weather 235/45/17 zr for like $115 a tire. So far I am VERY satisfied with these. Way quieter than the Falkens, provide a smoother ride and they are wider than my Falken 235/45/ 17s
They come with a "lip" to make curbing your rims harder to do (thats why they are a lil wider).

The new Bridgestone Turanza LS-V's
I replaced my rough, noisy Pilot A/S's with these tires and only wish I would have done itr sooner. Cheaper than Pilots, too

It depends on what you need.Summer or all seasons tires. From summer I say S-03's but they are many good summer tires. For all season I like the Continental ContiExtremeContact or Pirelli PZero Nero M&S.

$188 each mounted & balanced from a local discounter.

These tires are huge, BTW.....the 225/50/17s are SOOOOOOO much larger all around -diameter as well as width- that the 215/50/17's will be much closer to both the RE92 and the Pilots in size.

Very good choice! The Bridgestone LS-series (H,V,Z) are the current best overall tires, IMO. I bought the Turanza LS-H 30K miles ago. There're lot of threads left on these tires and the performance is still very good.

Kuhmos HP4. Great All Season. I bought mine at Tire Rack (~$60.00/tire) last fall. They did very well in the N.E. winter(ice, snow ,rain) & have 50,000 tread life.

I noticed in the sunday paper last week that Sears now sells them too.

Check out their review in tire rack...excellent.

i have the bridgestone RE040 and i love em.. they stick to the ground like crazy.. i go about 80MPH in the rain with no problems at all. Too bad I will be posting them for sale this saturday since my new wheels arrived.. BTW, my tire size is 235/50R17 and still pretty new.. only couple of months old.

Great all-season tires. Many threads listed in the tire section also.

Turanza LS-V. It was a great leap of faith for me to give Bridgestone a second chance after the crappy-beyond-belief Potenzas, but I'm glad I did. Smooooth quiet ride, but not mushy or sloppy by any means. Very good dry handling and excellent wet handling. I've got snows, so I won't find out how these things do in winter. One of the longer treadwear warranties on this tire as well.

Cheers,

Jaeger

PS - The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S were my second choice. A buddy of mine has them on his Max. Slightly better dry grip, noticeably harsher ride. depends on your priorities.
