Howdy Max people,
I have 2 questions. First, I plan on doing some modifications before the summer, I can either do an intake and exhaust or stabilizer bars and springs. Any recomendation on what I should go for first?
Second, is it possible to get the 5 speed manual transmission and replace the auto. I have a 2K SE and when I got it, I was told by the dealer that I would have to wait a couple of months for the manual if I wanted leather and sunroof etc. Also, how much do you think it will cost?

If you plan on doing a 5 spd swap... don't. It'll cost you a lot of money, so just trade in your auto instead. If you are doing the swap yourself, $1000 for a used LSD tranny with all the changeover parts (but this is for a 95 Max). If you're not, probably somewhere in the $3000 range.

 

I agree. Trying to change an automatic to a manual is the wrong way to go. Its sounds like a good idea until you try to do it (like speeding in front of a police station).

As far as the mod question. You have to ask yourself what is more important; straight line speed and exhaust sound or carving corners.
