Symptom of MAF Failure??

I made a post Saturday night about my car dying, still tryin to figure out what it is. I just went to the dealership (where I had it towed) to put in a stock air filter in place of my K&N to avoid possible questions. So I tried starting the car and it'll start, rev to about 2000 RPM under minimal throttle pressure, then it feels like I hit the rev limiter. If I give it more than like 1/8 of an inch of gas tho it'll bog down and die. Is this sounding like a MAF Failure or something else? This is the first problem I've had with the car, other than little stupid things like the Bose radio. Thanks for any help

yeah your MAF sensor is gone

jsut buy a 2k1 MAF sensor from dave b for like 88 bucks transfer over the resistor from 2k2 sensor on to 2k1 sensor

reset your ecu and your in business

2k2 MAF sensors are crap......get the 2k3 which is less likely going to fail.

This will cost you a bundle.....or.....you can get a 2k1 MAF (the SES light will be on) but there is a way to bypass that which 2K2WhiteMaxi knows....he has it that way.

I'm still under warrantee so they should replace it for free, yes? I removed the K&N filter (their arguement that the oil causes it to go), removed my CAI piping (plastic dryer tubing) to get rid of any possible arguements there, and popped in a basic paper air filter I picked up for like $8. I'm only at 28,000 miles, so it should be replaced for free right? Think I'll get any hassels?? They cant really relate it to an air intake cause when they look at the car tomorrow the intake setup will be stock. So annoying to have the car dead...

It should be free but knowing some Nissan Dealers they will give you some bull shiat about it.....don't give in because the WILL rip u off......warranty does cove the MAF so it should be free......

BTW: when u get this one....i'd take it out and put a 2k1 in because after your warranty is over these are some expenisive *****

The one I went to last week for my speedometer problems was actually quite helpful. They replaced my whole speedo cluster, no questions asked. I'd rather get the free replacement, if it goes again down the road i'll have it replaced again under warrantee i'm not over, or just buy one of the 2k1 ones. I'm all about free now. I can ride my mountain bike to work (2 miles away) so I'm not in desperate need of the car. The dealer can replace it for free, all goes well.
I'm workin on saving all I can to hopfully buy a Ninja in a month or so.
