brembo upgrade question
im possibly looking into doing a brembo big brake upgrade on 02 maxima. brembo kit is $2500 (from tirerack) which i cannot afford. i tried looking on ebay for same and all it came up is just kits for 95-99 maxima, or just cross-drilled brembo rotors without calipers (~$150-200). question is....could i put brembo rotors with stock calipers and some nice pads (green stuff or similar) or is that out of the question. by doing so i wouldnt have brembo calipers but would save me $2000 or so. also if anyone knows can i put 95-99 maxima brembo kit on the 02 model. 99 had 16" wheels and apparently brembo kit requires 17" for clearance. also if all this is not possible, what good pads would you recommend?
thanks

Check the group buy section. There is a kit there for around $500. It includes rotors and 300zx calipers, which are supirior to the ones that come stock on a max.
One thing to note is that this is not a BBK. The rotors are little smaller from the stock ones.

I wonder why they use bigger brakes in the Track model 350Z and G35C (as well as other vehicles, like the Impreza WRX vs. the STi) and seem to have no problems? I believe the Nissan/Infiniti vehicles use the same master cylinder and such...
