01 Max vs 01 Max

I just came back from a trip to Puerto Rico and drove my dad's 01 Max.. I own a 01 Max too. His car felt like DAMMMMNNNN!!!! too fast. I compared everything against mine and the only thing different I noticed was the manufacturing date. My car was built on 06/2000 and his on 02/2001. Will the upgrade to the MAF came into production after the 06/2000 production? Could this be the missing link on my car? Any suggestions.

i assume both have the same transmission and trim levels? se trim can be just a tad slower due to the heavy 17's compared to gxe and gle 16's. my 2k1 has a build date of 8/00 and i had the standard maf but updated coils. you may want to check the coil p/n as well. i replaced mine with the updated maf and did not notice any major differences besides slightly better responsiveness.

he could just take care of the car better than you

also, just cause the car feels fast doesn't neccessarily mean so. Mine felt fast to me and others driving it for the longest time till I dyno'ed to find that my VIAS was broken and only putting out 160 whp

That reminds me of the other night I was messing around with another 2k or 2k1 max on the highway he looked to me to be all factory and I got a y-pipe, intake and cat-back exhaust so I thought when he got on it and then I did I should have passed him no prob but we were tied untill about 105mph then I finally started to pass. May be its my 18's slowing me down.
