well. the motor could have failed.
when u press the button? do u hear any noise, does your seat at least try to move? or is it totally dead?
This was the problem with my seat: when i pressed the button, i would hear the motor for a split second and then nothing and the seat would try to jerk forward and then stop.
I took it to a dealer, after spending the whole day looking at it they tell me " you had a dime stuck in the rail it prevented your seat from moving and burned out the motor". *blsht* i heard the motor, so it wasnt burned out. anyway
i took the seat apart. there are three motors. one for forw/back one for tilt and one for up/down.
found a motor on e-bay for 50 bucks .. replaced it. and now iam happy. btw i still have one more spare motor if anyone might need one.

All 3 motors are the same. i think the only difference is the wiring harness is different shape . but i think u can rewire it if anything. i believe its the one for the tilt or up/down. ummm. has to be since i used the one for sliding of the seat.

There's a TSB out about the seat not moving forward or back. Check this out: http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB02-001c.pdf

YEAP. funny thing the dealer didnt honor that TSB for me. conviniently they "found" a dime bent in the track of the seat and said " since the dime is the reason for burned out motor .. it is your fault, you have to pay for the new motor" total w/labor about $600 .. so i showed them the finger and did it myself for $50 .. hehe

so just make sure they dont make up some funny story at the Nissan STEALership

ok, so i call esserman nissan and bill seidel nissan hear in miami, and they tell me i cannot have my seat fixed because "the tsb is just to aid the technician in correcting what is wrong with the seat." i was also told that you cannot just replace the motor, you have to replace the entire assembly. qouted 2 grand for it. i then laughed in his face told him it could stay dead and hung up.

my 2000 gle driver side doesn't tilt. I am always in cruising/low rider mode.

Lucky for me the seat goes front/back. Nobody smaller than me can drive my car due to this problem.

Anyone know an easy fix for this?
