I have a JWT pop charger. Yeah K&N says that you can clean the filter every 50k miles. Admittedly I have let mine go for about 20k and it looks filthy. In fact I think that it had some impact on the death of my MAF.

I need to start taking care the filter more often.

How often should I clean my K&N filter?

I clean mine once a year and brush it off in between with a paintbrush to get bugs and stuff off.

 

The paintbrush is a great idea. I will have to incorporate that possibly with each oil change.

 

Just be careful if you clean to much as you'll develop holes in the cotton and it won't be able to filter as good. Don't use high pressure water!

 

I was thinking about cleaning it after 10000 miles i think but i have no time...seems to be weaker than before...the sound and power.

 

i shake and knock it off about every 3k miles and clean about every 10k.
