ok wen i floor the gas down and it goes through 1st,2nd, when it shifts to 3rd gear the rpms start going and drop back down about 500-1000 rpms and then it starts to gain speed again....this only happens in 3rd gear...any idea wat it is....i changed the air firlter, fuel injection, tranny flush, i dont know wat alse i can do...any help appriciated...thanks

ok, i can't see from your web page, profile of signature if you are auto or manny. but, with the mods you have done, i'll assume stick. sounds like you clutch is slipping.

when O/D is turned off and you are in 3rd gear, the torque converter attempts to lock up just past 3k rpm. It locks and unlocks causing the slight slow down in revs... TC lockup can occur in both 4th gear as well as 3rd gear if O/D is off...

..in 3rd gear, it does the same thing on my 2k3 @ 3800 RPM. The 'master' Nissan technician advised it was the normal lock up of the torque converter.

Anyone know if the lock up RPM can be changed?

Okay, i'm not sure but from what i've read in the past on org.. i'll throw in my .02 centz.
Could it be your MAF? If MAF is good, then perhaps the computer is screwing up?

Cuz I remember a while back someone had MAF problems and after the MAF replacement he had similar problems where his rmp would drop and car wouldn't drive properly.

(This is a sign, you should stop racing with your car )

no the car drives properly...i tried to floor it with over drive on and it didnt do it...UMDMAXSE is correct it does lock up only wen OD is off....but i just dont understand why ...?

This is a stupid question, but how the hell does Overdrive help us? I always leave mine on. Well its always on when you start the car.. i never bother taking it off.

well i usually take it off when im racing someone becuase with it on 3rd switches at like 6000 rpms but with it off it switches close to 6800.....which gains a lot more speed....but now i will have to take it off after i reach the certain speed i figured it out now thanks guys....
