Car & Driver addresses Maxima HID theft in current issue!

The current issue of C&D (July), one of the columnists (Bedard?) has written an article on the 2k2+ HID theft problem we all know and hate.

He mentions, specifically, the methods by which the lights are removed, what happens to them, and also mentions the lawsuit filed by the state of NJ vs. Nissan NA.

He mentions also that the lawsuit was filed because Nissan knew that HID theft was an issue on our Maxes and delayed releasing the appropriate repair and anti-theft kits, and also charged customers for them.

I think it's good that our plight is getting some national exposure, but hopefully, this will not touch off a string of HID thefts outside the NE US -- I live in Texas and we have not seen any here, that I know of. Also, this might encourage Nissan to make the DataDots available nationwide (not just NE) and at no cost.
