Thoughts About....
why do all the jap car makers feel the need to put "Type R" or "Type S" or "R" or "R/T" on the freakin car. What, because a 4D sedan has a "R" on it suddenly it's a Racecar? How about something less gay like "GT" - a suffix that is associated with REAL performance cars....
"R" is for "Ricer"
"R" is for "Ricer"

R/T is actually a Chrysler thing dating back to the muscle car days. Stands for Road and Track. Ford used the letter R in VIN #'s to denote race or high performance versions of engines in street cars, hence the term "R- Code". They never stuck badges on the cars though. The new Mach 1 has R in the Vin for the engine code, more of a retro thing though. Come to think of it, even the Cobra R's didn't have "R" badging anywhere. Of course, if you feel the need to have "R" or "Type R" on your car, you probably are a Ricer! Just my .02. Oh yeah, if I was going to by a brand new Nissan, it probably would be an Altima SE.
