I recently purchased the main grille from Street Scenes. When I installed it over the OEM grille, it looked terrible cuz you could see the horizontal bars of the original grille right through the new one. My question is if i install some sort of screen behind the new grille to black it out, will this cause performance problems? Or will it just tear off and/or be dangerous?

 

You're supposed to pull off the the OEM grille before you install the SS grill.

 

How do you that? Isn't our grill connected to the bumper cover?

 

oh yeah i forgot to say that. i dont really want to cut out the stock grille, im afraid i might mess it up and its not something i want to do.

 

For the '02 the OEM grille is held in place by a few screws/nuts. Not sure what the setup is for the '00-'01 as I've heard you need to do minor adjustments to get proper fitment.
