My Rotors are warping AGAIN!!!

Oh my goodness............WHY!!!??
I just got new rotors back in December and they are going bad again. I mean they are not horrible and the vibration is not very noticible.....but I think we are going down that road again.........that expensive road.......

Why are the rotors so freakin horrible........

thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome to the joy of 5th gen brakes.

I have the BlehmCo kit installed right now with Axxis Metal Master pads (2k4 rotors, much bigger) and I don't have any warpage problems, but then I've only had them on for a month or so... it's remained to see whether the BlehmCo kit with 2k4 rotors completely solves this issue. But if it does, then bravo.

I have the BlemCo kit too(with the 300ZX calipers), but since January, with about 6k miles on it. Braking is perfectly smooth, NO vibration or warpage - and I'm pretty hard on the brakes.

I've noticed what may be an issue, although probably not with the BlehmCo kit per se... it appears my 2k4 rotors are half glazed (the outer half of the pad sweep area appears shiny and glazed with grooves, the inner half is more of a blue-blackish smooth surface)... it MIGHT be due to the fact that I'm using Axxis Metal Master pads, or maybe I didn't properly temper the rotors (though I think I did, within the first couple weeks of having the kit on my rotors were completely bluish-blackish).

I also get occasional squealing... so I'm starting to think it's the Axxis Metal Master pads that are the culprit, and maybe the shiny glazing is a side effect of the pads...
But otherwise, yeah, braking is smooth and powerful.

Part of the problem is that resurfacing reduces the mass of the rotor and thereby reduces the rotor's ability to dissipate heat. Since the rotor cannot dissipate heat as well, they warp again. It's a slippery slope. Plus, and I'm just guessing here, when people get their rotors resurfaced, there must be a (false) sense that since the braking feel is better, they can push their cars harder again. Certainly, that would lead to quicker warping each time.

All this being said, I'm just about to put on a (front) set of Brembo blanks and new pads (Greenstuff). I wanted to go the Blehmco route but money is tight (of course). Has anyone had any problems with the Brembos warping?

25K miles here and brakes as smooth as new.
Driving style has a lot to do with it, the main thing to avoid is several hard stops when they are wet (rain snow or whatever). I just helped my brother put all new rotors and pads on his 300 M they were slightly warped at 30K. So far mine look and feel great.

Believe it or not, I'm on my original 2K2 rotors with no problems. I did have a little warpage last month but I needed my first brake job done. You should upgrade to the 2K4 rotors or go with a cross-drilled rotor to prevent further warping.
