Lowering ?

I have been a long time visitor but have not seen this question posted on the forum. I would like to lower my maxima using either the Eibach or H&R springs, but only on the front while keeping the rear stock. The reason for wanting to do this is the front wheel gap is 1" higher than the rear. If I lower both, the front will still be higher than the rear. If I just lower the front 1.3" with Eibach for example both the front and rear will be approximately the same height. My concern is will this affect the handling adversely? Has anyone done this to their car? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

You should get oversteer if you stiffen the front suspension... how much oversteer, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the reply Y2KevSE. I currently have 17 X 8 TSW-Revos with 245X45X17 Michelin Pilots. If I lower using Eibachs would I have any problems with wheel rubbing either in front or back.

You're welcome.

Nope... you won't run into problems.

I thought you had it backwards...

Now I've confused myself. Ok, stock...understeer. Add an RSB (stiffen the rear roll stiffness)...less understeer. So if you just stiffen the front and not the back, that would give you way more understeer.

But then...
Ok, the theory is that the end with the stiffer setting carries more of the cornering loads. The higher stiffness pushes down on the tire harder...making it grip harder. So stiffer front means more front grip.

Someone starighten me out...I've mixed myself up pretty bad now.

Oops... you are correct. It's understeer, which is bad for us because we have plenty of it.

My bad!
