pop the trunk, ask to remove the rear trunk trim by the tail lights, check for weld marks thoo. this is really important. i bought a salvaged crx that has been totalled twice. it is soooo not worht it to buy a car with a messed up chassis. and check all the doors for part numbers, check the hood to see if the date is the same as the car.and don't be over anxious on buying the car right away. you'll easily over look alot of problems. what i suggest mostly is check the past records. do not ever buy a car with salvaged title. pop the hood, look at the front beam where the radiator is mounted to and by the fenders to see if there are weld marks. if so the car has possible been through a collision repair don't buy it.

I recently purchased a 96SE, all options auto for $11,000. One woman owner, interior absolutely NEW, leather perfect. Exterior perfect except for scratch on fender, and hood painted for $500. so for $11500 I have a perfect 96SE. I think even $16000 for a 97Se is too much. Its a year newer so add about $1500 and low miles so add about $500. I think you shouldnt pay more than $14000. I would keep looking or try to bargain more, but thats me and I have alot of friends in the car business, but I will say that you will LOVE the car I couldnt be happier-Good Luck
