Decision 2004 (for a 5th gen)
I currently have a forth gen maxima and am looking to buy a 5th gen. Can anybody please help me point out some of the major differences among the 5th gens such as horsepower, torque, and other important specs.

i dont know much about the 5th gen but somehow try to pull it off and get an 02-03

The only big differences:
00-01 3.0L 222HP 5speed available on SE and GXE model. The 2001 AE has LSD
02-03 3.5L 255HP 6speed available on the SE and LSD is an option but not very easy to find used.
IMO - Get a 02-03! Not much more money and a heck of a lot more power to begin with.
