Short throw Shifter???

I'm looking to buy a short throw shifter...Any recommendations? I might buy the one off of custommaxima.com.

Cutting

Whats the difference between just cutting your old shifter and rethreading it, and buying a new one?

That would shorten the stick, however the throw would only be that much shorter. If you purchase a short-throw shifter it changes the height of the shifter as well as the pivot point, which makes a huge difference in the length of the throw.

Spend a little more money and get the B&M.
Trust me...I had the custommaxima.com and replaced it with the B&M.

I put the custommaxima shifter in myself. It was my first mod and took me about 4 hours to do, mainly because I was unable to get the catalytic converter off and had to work around it. If you can get the cat off, do it. Otherwise the install was not all that bad.

Get B&M! They specialize in transmissions.
The shifter is nice and heavy. At precise ****s it shoots between gears, great performance mod.
And unless you have a lift or can get under your cat, get a pro to change it for around 80 bucks.
