Bose stereo conversion
Anyone ever done a Bose upgrade in a non-Bose equipped model? Is it even worth the trouble? I'd like to have clearer sounds from the stereo, and wouldn't mind keeping the Radio/CD/Tape configuration. Of course, it would all depend on how much that "factory" look is going to cost. Besides, it's either that or do the aftermarket head unit, 4-channel amp, speakers, etc...... HELP!!!

I would just go aftermarket. I think the BOSE system does sound good, but I almost wish I didnt have it because it would make it a lot easier to switch to aftermarket (you dont have to replace every thing all at once). Which you will probably want to do sooner or later if you are anything like me.
Besides, for what you would probably pay for the BOSE system you could start a kicka$$ aftermarket system.
Just my .02

Yes bose uses tricky wiring and such as well as being expensive. I have bose and like it however it lacks the midrange unless u crank it. highs are clear and lows are nice. You can get a cheaper more powerful system going regular aftermarket. Also the cut outs for a maxima bose setup is different then a non premium system. Just go aftermarket for whatever fits. Goodluck
