Service Engine light is on...

i took out the cluster..
to clean it.. put it back in.. and just rev up the car.. and service engine light came on...

how can i get rid of it?

On the 2000 max, if you disconnect the battery for 45 min to an hour and reconnect, then the light should reset. I think the 2001's are the same.

i believe you unplug the battery overnight? don't quote me on it however

I did mine a few days ago for about 45 min and it worked.

i've had my battery disconnected for 7 hours now.. hopefully tonite or tommorrow morning everything will be fine

I need to clear mine too.....but I was told by the dealer, that the only way to clear and reset the ECU is with the Scan thing the dealer has.......

i've got an obd-II scanner now. I can check and clear codes.

the dealer uses a consult-II which is alot more advanced and has other features

Anyone with an OBD II scantool can erase the codes...

thanks larry.. i just reconnected my battery and it was gone.. but i would still like to know what was wrong with it.. i'll see you at the dyno meet
