I have a place racing cai, and my filter is a year old. I put about 10,000 miles a year on my car, how often should I change or clean my filter? It does look somewhat filthy, but it's a pita to remove it from the cai because of its location. Let me know what you guys think I should do..

I'm not familiar what is a CAI is? Is it a original airbox there or is it modifed. Cuz if it's stock, it should be hard to replace. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I clean and oil mine every other oil change.

CAI=Cold Air Intake :P Mine is located by the wheel well, it's a pita to change/clean..The hole is the size of a freaking quarter dime, yet it's somewhat dirty n has some burn marks on it..It's a K&N filter, I was going to get a HKS style spongy one, but I hear bad reviews..Cleaning is my next option..

you can do two things...
go through the trouble and take it out and clean it with the cleaning kit...
or
hit up cobymoby and buy a Apexi Filter from him and never clean it againn.. since those are virtually maintenance free
