Availabilities of Majestic Blue AEs in Canada
I am from the US looking to purchase a Max in Canada very soon. Figure i can save atleast 3k now with the strength of the USD. I know all SEs in Canada come in AE form and i am thinking of getting Majestic Blue if available. Is Majestic blue common to find at most Canadian dealers or is it special order only. Also what kind of prices are are SEs going for in Canada now. Its hard to find any pricing info on the net for Canadian car prices. Appreciate any help.

I check at the price I got it, it's seems to make around 22,500 $US or 35,??? $CDN. You can probably shave few thousands buying in the land of Monopoly money.
Cheers

majestic blue
the majestic blue is not really hard to find here in canada, but you have to be lucky though....
i saw one at the lot in the dealer the other day...
majestic blue and pearl white(what i have) are the two colors that are harder to find comppared to the other colors..
and you have to remember that the AE's if canada are all fully equipped and there are no options other than the little ones like cd changer, etc....
and the ones in canada dont come with the kit

I bought mine in December but had to wait 2 weeks for the dealer to find blue w/ black leather. They had an automatic blue w/ grey leather on the lot. It was definitely worth the wait.
Availability would depend on what you mean by 'in Canada'. If you mean Southern Ontario (mainly the Greater Toronto Area), then you likely won't have a problem getting any colour you want. If you are talking about less populated places like the Prairies or the Maritimes, then you will probably have more trouble finding the exact car you want on the lot.
Expect to may near MSRP - 35,400 for the 5 sp plus 966 in freight. The auto is 1,400 extra. Unlike the US AE, there is no body kit on the car. Invoice is about 31,900 so there may be some room for you to negotiate.
There is considerable and growing pressure on car dealers in Canada not to sell to US consumers. Some makers will just try to discourage you but I have even heard that some manufacturers are not honouring warranties for US residence if the car was purchased in Canada. Unless the dealer has excess inventory, he would be better off selling to a local person who would provided future revenue streams from service work than to a non resident who is a one time customer. You're probably better off not telling them you are from the US. Just my two cents.
Good luck.

Hey KanataMax, warranty on canadian car running in the state shouldn't be a problem, dont forget we have the Free Trade Agreement.
A dealer can make you sweat because you didn't bought the car from him, but you can still find another dealer.

AA - My reference was not to Nissan on the warranty. It was actually put forward on this site by someone else that Acura was denying warranty coverage on their cars. I was merely pointing out that manufacturers will discourage cross border shopping. There was an item on the national news recently that this is becoming more of an issue as our dollar sinks even lower and more Amercicans come up looking for a bargain.
NAFTA, which replaced the FTA, is a piece of paper and certainly is not complete and total free trade. There are many products, including automobiles, were trade is anything but free in North America. Granted, it's not like it was 30 years ago where you would be paying huge duty and taxes to bring something accross the border but then again our dollar was worth $1.10 US back then. How times have changed.

Great info
Thanks for all the help. BTW, im looking in the Toronto/Ottawa areas. Just 7.5 hrs. from Philly PA. I can definately make the trip to save 3k under US invoice and i can due without the US AE ground effects. KanataMax, so your saying 31,900 CAN is the invoice on the 5sp AE and near MSRP is still what people are paying in Canada? Here in Philadelphia Max SEs can be had for invoice or under. The economy must not be too soft in Canada yet. Im looking to get an Auto, so i was told about 4 months ago that $35,000 CAN (includes freight) should be my target price for negotiating in Ontario area dealers. Sound about right or has the numbers went down with the weak economy?

There is a consumer organization in Canada to which I belong. They provide an invoice price of about 31,900 before freight. They also suggest a 'fair' price before tax is 34,000 including freight. I paid about that for mine.
I haven't checked lately with the dealer to see what they are selling the cars for now but getting it at invoice or lower is unlikely. I would suggest that this rarely happens on any import car in Canada (except maybe at year end clearance time) but I don't know for sure. If Canadian's have bought their AEs for 31,900 , please reply.
Ottawa only has three Nissan dealers so you would likely have more selection/competition in Toronto which could get you a better price. Good luck
