I need HELP!

My Check Engine light just came on... And my car is visible shaking when it idles. I could feel it all through the steering wheel and when I place my hand on the car, you can feel it shake.

I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow I guess, but I'm very worried it's about to die on me. Is this the transmission?

I was driving the Max hard, but I've driven it harder before. I was accelerating hard going through a hilly road, but it shifted fine and never had any problems. Then I stopped a light and it started shaking. I parked and checked it. When I got back in and turned the key, the Check Engine Light came on.

It's a 2000 GXE, Auto, I only run premium gas and I just had the 60k service about 2 months ago. They flushed the transmission and did the works.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I'm really scared it's about to die. But my problem is that I don't know anything about cars... At least when they start to do this!

Check your electrical. How old is the battery? Check alternator, check all ground wires.

It might be a vacuume leak. Check all the hoses, maybe one of them is loose.

 

Ignition Coils

 

Sounds like bad ignition coils.. I had same symptoms..

 

disconnect your #1 coil and start the car. if it still shakes, hook it back up and disconnect #2. keep on going down the line. if it stops shaking, it's the coils.
