Threw codes, need emmissions warranty info.
Coming back from our Cedar Point meet last night I received my first SES light about 10 miles into the 130 mile drive. Headed to Auto Zone today and the tech pulled a P0139 - Bank 1 Sensor 2 o2 and P1147 Air Fuel Metering codes. My question is, what is the duration for the emissions warranty. The cost of a new o2 sensor isn't an issue, but if its still covered, why should I pay for it out of my pocket if I don't need to. Local Nissan dealerships are closed for the day, so if anyone has this information, that would be greatly appreciated. If not, I'll just call them tomorrow and get 2 mpg on my way to work tonight. I did notice a significant drop in MPG and throttle response (guess from the air fuel issue).
Thanks in advance,
-Tim

I was told by the dealership when my o2 sensors and my Cam and Crank sensors went out, that emissions were covered to 60k miles....and that o2's fell under emissions......Am I wrong ? Im going by what the dealership themselves told me.

Thanks for the info guys. Currently I'm at 49k so this will actually be the first expense for repairs that I'll actually have to come from out of my pocket. Not too bad for driving the car for over a year and 23k miles.

Both of my O2 sensors were replaced by the dealer under the 60k warranty. I went in because my check engine light came on and the service writer just came in to the waiting room and said i have 2 bad sensors but it'll be covered under warranty - no worries.

o2 sensors are only covered under the 3yr/36mile warranty. I've spoken with three different dealerships today which all say the same thing. I also have been given quotes to replace a single o2 sensor by Nissan for anywhere from $300-$400 parts included. I've priced these already and to charge $300-$400 to install a $100 part is insane. I never had any intention of having Nissan install the new sensor, but after hearing these rediculous quotes, I hope to never find a need for them to do any sort of repairs on my car at all. Really glad I purchased a 7yr/100k warranty now. I was given the suggestion to just replace the MAF prior to the o2 sensor and see if that clears up the issue first, but what I'm thinking is with 49k miles and not having replaced any of the o2 sensors yet, a faulty o2 sensor would be the first item that should be replaced as when I had the hesitation TSB done a few months back, they replaced the MAF at that time. After being up all night and talking to three Nissan service techs, my head hurts and I need to figure this out later.

Just picked my car up from Germain Nissan. Purchasing my extended warranty was definately a good move. This service was 50% of the cost of my warranty, so good investment IMO. Car needed 2 o2 sensors and the ECU reprogrammed.
SEmy2K2go pays $53.38
Extended Warranty pays $417.61
I cleaned the throttle body yesterday after I took my Berk Intake off prior to taking the car in and was not suprised to see why my car had been hesitating along with the bad o2 sensors. There was a ton of carbon build-up which after cleaning and having the car serviced today, I'm sure has made a drastic difference in the car's performance. On the 3 mile drive home I noticed a significant increase in response and may hold off on putting the intake back on for a week or so just to see how it does. Overall, very happy with the car once again. Now time to fill up with 93 for $1.89/gallon.

Glad you didnt' have to pay too much Tim. I just went to the dealer today and picked up my O2 sensor for $116.xx plus tax. The guy at the parts dept knows me so he gave me a 15% discount. But that's STILL expensive. Last time I had to replace that sensor after putting on my exhaust, it only cost $77.xx. That was 2 years ago.

So I've driven my car for four days since Nissan replaced two faulty o2 sensors with no issues. Pulled into my parking place at work tonight, put the car in park and the SES is once again glaring back at me. I'm not overly excited.

This was the first time I've cleaned mine, but while my car was at Nissan, they stated that they clean the throttle body as part of the 30k maintenance.
Turned out that when they worked on my car last week, they adjusted the idle and the car was idling near 1100 rpms which threw the code. They adjusted it and reset the SES free of charge.
