Custom Exhaust

I have a 2000 maxima gxe 5spd, and I may be in the market for a custom exhaust system...
for those with custom exhaust setups (crush bent), which setup(diameter) did you guys go with for the most power? Also, did you feel any difference in power? Lastly, is a single tip muffler better than the dual tip muffler?
I have GAB-intake, y-pipe, and udp...

thanks!

Hey i just got a custom exhaust, for balance torque and high end power, go with a 2.25 setup with 2.00 bends. You will definitley feel the diffrence. Any larger diameter and you will be building a mid to top end car.If you were going turbo/supercharger then definitely go 3.00 diameter all the way. If not stick with the 2.25 setup.

Single or dual tips doesn't matter, that is for visual effect. One thing go with a light muffler, you will be glad you did. Greddy, Cattman ,ect have big mufflers and are quite heavy 12-15 lbs compared to a 7lb Ractive muffler which i got. Plus Greddy and other mufflers look funny because there so big , that it makes the Maxima look like it is dragging its butt on the ground. The Ractive muffler is the same shape of the stock muffler , so it will hid nicely under the rear 1/4 panel. My cat back system weighs less than 20 lbs compared to the stock which about 35lbs. Big diffrence!

Stock is 2" in diameter and 1-3/4" at the bends.

I just got a custom exhaust done.

catco 'cat'
dynomax thrush glasspack 28" resonator
2.5" piping
dynomax muffler
custom chrome stainless steel, single tip (rounded edge/slant)

Let's just say, it gives a nice sound and I felt the performance boost after driving it around for a while. I just need the y-pipe.

How much did you pay for all of those each, and where did you find the cheapest price?

thanks!

The total cost for parts and installation at Meineke was $280.

I got all the parts from www.summitracing.com and the tip was from a random website.

Good luck. This setup never fails. My buddy has it on his other cars.

95 is not bad.

Meineke did the 'cat', resonator, b-pipe, muffler, and tip for 140. Not nad either huh?

If I use 2.5" custom pipe from cat to muffler, and keep the stock muffler, will that show less gains than with an aftermarket muffler since aftermarket mufflers have 2.5" inlet pipe and stock I think has 2.0"?

thanks!
