Installed DDE's. Moisture in pass side headlight

Installed them yesterday. All went well. I had to open the pass side Head Light twice. The first time I finished and as I pulled the dde wiring, the bulb fell off. Perhaps I did not put on enough epoxy. I left the DS headlight turn signal bulb out as HOUSECOR suggested in his write-up. Forgot to do the pass side. I washed her tonight, and saw moisture in the headlight.

Any ideas??? I pulled out the light to dry and noticed water on the ballast and by the HID plug.

You could try leaving it out in a sunny area all day to see if that'll help. It didn't for me, so I just opened it back up, wiped up the moisture, resealed & used a small/thin amt of silicone around the seam of the headlight.

Did you use channel locks to assure a tight seal? If it's warm, you may be able to dry it out by removing the bulbs and sitting it out in the sun awhile.

guys thanks for the replies. i did use channel locks. the drivers side is fine. i left it with the fan blowing on it and it's now dry. i am concerned that it will get moisture in it when it rains again.

should i open it up and put more of the sealant on it?? anyone know from where can that be purchased? i really don't want to use any other sealant stuff. i already messed-up the tails by using the wrong stuff...

Do NOT use any other sealant. It'll just make a mess and likely won't solve the problem. If you get moisture again, do it right: put it back in the oven for 20 mins. and use channel locks.

Ouch. If the top isn't seating like it did before you opened it, definately throw it back in the oven. You should be able to reseal it just like before. Good luck.

After you seal them up again w/the OEM sealant, run a thin bead of clear silicone along the seam. It won't mess up anything, and if you ever have to re-open them, it won't be a problem as long as you make sure it's thin. I did..haven't had a prob. since.

what type of clear silicone? when it rains do you get water in the back of the headlights? it was raining this am. i don't see any moisture in the heads, but the back side is a little wet. i saw some water on the plugs, and wires. someone had problems with the dde's going out, due to the ballast getting wet.

thx
