What's up with Frankencar's Catback?

It got released back in November and everybody seemed enthusiastic, but then it fizzled.

I haven't really seen any comments on it (And yes, I did try searching)
Did anybody get it?
Were there ever any Dyno results?
Any reviews if anybody did get it?

Looks like Frankencar hasn't even sold 20 units yet. They were selling the first 20 for $400 but that price is still on the site (unless they haven't updated the price). Can anybody shed some light?

EDIT: Link to Frankencar's catback web page for reference

hehe, i thought you knew i got it bro. why do you think my car was on ramps for that week. i had cracked both cat bolts and was breaking titanium drill bits trying to drill out the holes. finally got it done. swear i thought you knew.

power wise i can't say much, although i feel a lot more of my low end.

it's not a freeflowing exhaust as compared to most aftermarket exhausts, which is why it's quieter than most aftermarkets. i remember reading an article that was talkin about modificaitons, and how there is no "standard". you improve it upon your surroundings and what's good for the cars use. how many times will i be flying down the track, hardly. how many times (i live in NYC) will i be able to go fast on the expressway, through multiple gears, all at high rpm. for me, not many times. of course i'll do it, but it isn't common. so for me, i was looking for something that improved my low end as much as possible, as that's what i would need to zip around the city.
the frankencar seems to fulfull that need. whether i lost my high end, i cannot say cause i can't feel a difference, but my low end is vastly improved. i'm very satisfied with it. that being said, the tone, or lack thereof, is great. i'm beyond the greddy phase. onto quieter, softer things.
i say get it. who cares if we're twins. pimp twins more like it.

Quieter, softer things? Don't be turning on us. You still have your system, that's loud enough.

I like mine. Great sounds at WOTs and quiet at normal operation speed.

I did had a little problem with the muffler being too heavy and the stock hanger can't support it well. I was able to fixed it w/an aftermarket hangers.

The one thing I keep on hearing is their lack of customer service.

Has anyone had any recent experience with this?

As far as fitment goes supposedly the muffler is larger and rattles against the heat shield? Any comments anyone?

Their customer service is supposed to suck, buuuut, according to what I've read, the catbacks ship pretty quickly since they already have them fabricated.

EDIT: asked a question that was already answered... nevermind

I bought two hangers, one of each for both left/right side of the rear end of the muffler hanger location. I noticed that you only need one for the right rear. You can use the old hanger to sandwich it between the edge of the muffler canister and the car frame to isolate it from banging onto the metal frame.

How does it compare to the super-quiet stock muffler? I am considering a cattman Ypipe, custom B, and FC catback and I don't want loud interior droning and raspy notes to wake up the neighborhood.

my intake prolly creates 90% of the "noise" of my car. if the FC were on a stock car, i don't think you'd hear anything.

the Frankencar 'catback' includes a b pipe......do you mean just the rear section?

My exhaust was hitting a heat shield right at the bend mid car. Just took a screw driver and hammer and banged on the heat shield until it didnt hit it anymore.

Had the same issue on a civic I was working on, just had a friend do 5 minutes worth of welding, problem solved. That is the way you want to do it so nothing can happen to it again...

i had to grind off a piece of metal that was close to the back part of the muffler to keep it from banging around and also bent the aft rear hangar...no clanging anymore

You won't be disappointed w/the FC then. Seriously, this thing sounds almost exactly like stock IMO. I had it w/o an intake and you can't even tell it's not stock. W/the intake, it's a different story, but that's just a function of the intake making noise, not the catback.

I did that too but it still bang when hit a nasty road bump. So, I sandwiched the stock rubber hanger (that I had replaced w/the Nismo's urethan hanger) between that area as you'd mentioned and tighten the C-clamp around the left side of the stock hanger to push the two together. There has been no single noise since.
