Billet Grills for 2000,,MAY HAPPEN

I emailed MOTOSTORM to inquire about BILLET GRILLS for 2000 maximas. Here is his reply:

Hello. I've been interested in making one for the 2000 maxima but removing
the factory grill seems almost impossible without destoying it. Do you know how
to properly remove it? Is there anyone in the Ohio area willing to come and
allow for measurements to be taken? Thanks

What do you guys think? It would be nice to be able to tell him how many people would buy this and be willing to cut the fact grill. I know there is a grill already available for 2000, which requires cutting the fact grill, and people have installed it. I have read that grill rusts. The billet one would look sweet.

So please post here and I will email him back.

Who lives in OHIO, and is willing to go for measurements??

Another e-mail:

Hello. Does anyone have an old grill that is rusted that they could sell or
donate for my final measurements? The only thing that stopped me from making a
grill was that the customer would have to destroy their old grill. Thanks

I would definitly buy a billet grill if he made one that was flush with everything. But make sure that this grill won't rust and all that good stuff.

I'm interested, however you'd still have to cut/remove the stock grille to make it work.

If it could be done easily and mount somewhat factory like, I'd buy one. Don't matter price. Just looks.

No, you don't have to. I'll do it. I live in Ohio and I've talked to Brett at a meet before. I'll have to touch base with him.

See if theres a way to make a grill fit over the existing one, then just remove the nissan emblem...might work?

Looks and Price would factor in on my decision. Cutting the grille out wouldn't matter as long as the new mounts look somewhat factory for private party resale in the distant future. Thanks for doing the leg work fellas!

Why is this dead? What's his email? I haven't talked to him since he hasn't been on IM lately.
Will I get a free grille if this goes through?

I will soon I hope. I emailed Brett on Friday, but he hasn't responded yet.

Yeah I'm thinking a chrome grille like the one they made for the 4th gens won't be too bad, but then again maybe a black powdercoated grill would look better on my car.

I just ordered some chrome grill kit off ebay for like 25 bucks. From what I understand it 3M's over your existing grill and comes with the chrome slants and a chrome border, the pics he provided looked nice, so I figured I would try it out. I dont know how to post links I am an idiot, but you can view if you go to ebay, then type "maxima chrome grille" about 9 items will appear then go to the one that is buy it now for 24.99 the first picture on the page is a before after of a 2000-01 maxima. Anyone bought this kit before???

IMO, it kinda looks like a cheap version of the 2k2. But if you like it, go for it

Nah, I'm not upset. I was just saying I figured I would try it out for 25 bucks. I mean if it looks cheap then by all means it's coming off. I just figured it was worth a try. That picture is low quality so it might end up looking better than that, who knows. If I can figure out how to post a pic on here, I will once I get it installed.

you will have to upload the pic on a web-site, like cardomain. once thats done, right click on the pic and copy the address. then in your post click on img, paste the address, and click the img again..you are done..
