OK, so I finally have some time for a brief write-up. I do not have my digital Cam at the moment to take pics, but once you get under the car everything should fall into place.

Sounds like the easiest way to do it. I was using handtools & those bolts were tightened on pretty good..was pretty tough to do, plus the car wasn't on a lift, hence the 2 hours wasted trying to take out those 3 silver screws.

 

don't waste any time taking out the 3 screws

 

good. anymore info to share with would-be thieves....

 

What exactly are data dots anyway? I had that little sticker on my lights when i got my max. I am thinking I will do this to get the dust out from my headlight housing.

I am not sure of the kind of thieves that would spend about 1 hour to take headlights off a car. I doubt that they can accomplish this in 10 minutes or less, further more this is a forum to help others. And others have been asking about such questions (as I did). I understand where you are saying but there are other ways to state your point without being sarcastic. But as always there has to be someone on the forum with a negative comment.

That sticker should say DATADOT it is an oval silver sticker. This means that a metal bracket was added to slow down and deter theives from your headlights.

they steal your lights yet? that's why i have negative comments.
it's not about taking an hour. it's about understanding what's holding it in and figuring out easier ways to take em out. okay, so i'll just rip the bumper off, snap those bolts, and now they're still whole.

still standing behind my statement. when they steal them from you, you'll understand. and if they already have, then i dunno then...

And once again I will be the bigger person here and let you know that I understand what you are trying to say in your "own way", and I will go back and take out the instructions.

 

ok, i may have worded that wrong, so my bad, but all i'm trying to get at is that any information helps would-be thieves. i've seen instances where information was released and the next day, i see a post about someone's stuff gettin stolen and it waslike wow, they were reading it straight from here.
it's just how i am...in another thread one kid asked me "yo, that's hto son, where do you roll" i'm like "are you ****ing kidding me....i don't know you and you don't know me....you'll never know where i "roll"..." it's just the new york way of me being. the less people know, the better off in certain instances.

no beef son, just watching my back. i'm not saying it'll happen to you. but if it does, if for some very odd chance it looks like they knew what to do to release the data dot mechanism, would you think that maybe they read that here?
