DDE problem
DDE problem
I just finished installing DDE's.
Everything works, except for one ring. It lights up, but it is very dim. I checked them before the installation and all of them were equally bright.
Anyone has any ideas?

there is probably a short. I had the same problem, what happened with mine was when i put the dust cap back on over the wires it cut through the insulation and the wires touched causing the ring to light up but it was very dim. Another place where there could be a problem would be at the connectors to the ballast.
I highly recommend cutting the connectors and hard wiring the rings to the ballast. Otherwise, you'll likely continue to fight this (as I did.) Also, drill a hole under the dust cap on the Xenons and run your DDE wires out of there. That way your DDE wires won't get crimped under the cap.
How-to on my site.

Thanks for the replys.
I don't think there is a bad connection. Instead, the ballast migth be bad. I rechecked all the wires and couldn't find a problem. So, I decided to connect just the bad ring. When I did this it lighted up properly. Then, I connected both rings and they were good for a minute or so. After that, the bad ring dimmed again.

this is probably gonna sound stupid but was youre car on while u turned them on?? cause mine sometimes do that when I turn them on when the car is off, and as soon as I turn my car they light up as they should. Maybe you got some water in the connectors too i had that happen to me also just dry them up and its fine.
So, you guys say that the supplied connectors introduce resistance into the circuit? Reason I'm asking is that when I have only one ring connected then it lights up properly. But when I connect two then the bigger one dims.

Any idea as to what might cause this?

the wires. i bet one of them is loose or not connected properly. did you tape them or did you use connnectors and heat shrink them?
If it's the ballast then both would have issues.
