Ok, now you've done it! You used the word "simple".

Me likey simple. Me likey go fast through corners.

On to the mods, baby! I've gotta get me one o'dem FSTB's.

Now the big question... are these things only sold through Stillen, Courtesy and Beat Street (I think that was the name)? I'd love to get one locally (southeastern Connecticut) and do it this weekend. I doubt this is something you can pick up at Pep Boys (D'OH! )

Thanks.

Check the parts list... several distributors. If you don't want to cut the mounting bracket for your airbox (airbox still is fine) then you'll want to get the Stillen or the Courtesy bars.

I'm an idiot

Duh!

Gee, you think the parts list might contain information about parts?

Sorry all, for the time you take to read my lame-O post above. I'd delete it but I put all that effort in there to make the smileys.

punkdork - thanks for the slap upside the head. Guess it's gonna be mail order for me on this one.

I got mine through Courtesy. I ordered it on Wednesday and figured with the way UPS is, I wouldn't see it until Monday. That meant that with my schedule it would have been next weekend before I got it installed. However, at 10 AM this morning it arrived on my desk at work. Of course I'm in KS so it was pretty close. Anyway, yeah its very simple. 6 15mm bolts on the struts and you've got it. It took me an hour, but I had to remove the airbox to get one of the bolts I dropped. Those are 10mm by the way. my ogre sized hands make it difficult to reach tight places. Next I'm putting my 17" summer wheels on so I'll probably do springs instead of the rsb. That way I get looks and performance.

punkdork,

there was a post (can't find it now) about differences between GXE and SE. It was like SE has some additional beams under the hood so it is more rigid than GXE.

In this case, does FSTB improve the handling on SE as much as on GXE? Or SE+FSTB is marginally better and I need to go with RSB?

Please, clear that out. I have 5-spd SE and the only mod so far is MT-90

Well an SE+FSTB should beat a GXE with FSTB due to the rest of the SE's suspension. However... if you like the FSTB... you'll LOVE the RSB. Day and night difference. RSB is waaaay more noticeable.

Yes - there are extra braces in the SE (at least the earlier ones) but they're in a different area of the front structure. The FSTB made a noticeable difference on my SE. The added benefit of the FSTB is that it helps maintain structural integrity over time - the chassis won't loosen up as much with age - less squeaks and rattles.
