NHTSA recall for 2001-2002 Maximas
I recently found this out...NHTSA Recall History
2001-02: The pin on the lower control arm could break, causing a knocking sound and abnormal steering. 2002: Due to the incorrect design of the accelerator-pedal stopper, the pedal can "overtravel," causing the check-engine light to come on and/or reducing engine speed.
I just found this at http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2393
I am a 02 Maxima owner w/ a savage title. Does anyone know if my car still qualify for the recall if my car was a savage veichel???? I don't know how these recalls work, can someone give me some info on it??? or someone that's gotten these things done.........please help me out

These are "old" recalls.
Have you recently bought your car? If so, there's a good chance the recalls were already done to your car.
If you are the original owner of the car and kept the car after the salvage (for whatever reason) then there's a good chance THAT's the reason Nissan didn't send you the notice that the car needed the recalls fixed.
I don't think you will get away with not telling the service department the car was salvaged. Computers....they have a funny way of storing information like that with the attached VIN number.
And if your car was salvage because of a wreck or flood, or theft stripped, etc the mechanics aren't morons, they will most likely notice.
Just call your local Nissan dealer, give them your VIN number and ask them if they can tell you if the recalls have been done on that car. Good luck

Recalls are called recalls because they are mandatory and Nissan should support it for any car, including a salvaged one. If the car is on the road, Nissan doesn't want you to die because they new about a problem and didn't publish it or act on it. Bring the car in, don't talk about the salvaged title, if they discover it so what? They'll still perform these recalls because they are safety issues.
