I spoke to Jose at IonicDynamics yesterday and he told me that he finally has a donor trunk for the 5th Gen Maxima and he will start work this week and have a prototype by approximately the end of the month.

He does need the plastic license plate bracket so he can work that into the mold so if anyone can donate one...he needs it asap. nissan wants $70 for a new one!

Also for those of you who are interested in a cf wing to go with your trunk, Jose says he will make a mold for that too. Someone will need to send him a wing to get a mold done. I definately want a CF wing w/my trunk because I dont like the look w/out it. I will try to send him both the wing and the lisence plate bracket within the next week or so. The wait is almost over...

ya, i emailed him a few days ago and he told me 3 weeks and he'll have a mold... =)

 

I can do the wing, just rip it off my damadged trunk lid....someone rear ended me....adn the lisence plate bracket, i guess i can do that too. God my cars gonna look ghetto. Not to sound like an ***...but do i get compensated? Id probably drive the items down from nor cali to so-cali.

 

Subscribing due to updates and talk of CF spoiler. Any chance he can make the spoiler and little different but still use factory holes. I would like to see a milder APC spoiler look.

 

yea CF spoiler would Rock if it used the stock holes and had more Drag on it. =) =)

i have a stock wing sitting in my garage that he can use. I would really like him to make a version WITHOUT the center pillar support though. I saw the pics of a dude who did a custom job like that posted a few weeks ago and it looked SICK! kinda like the factory CL-S wing

 

i'm in a desperate need for a trunk lid. got into an accident. let me know when it's available.

If you guys are serious about sending the stock wing and the lisence plate bracket, PM me ASAP. Also post on here to let others know what the story is. We need to get him these parts right away too fellas. It would be a shame for him to complete the trunk and then we have to wait an additional few weeks for the wing to get done. Since hes really just getting started, perhaps it will be possible for him to complete both the wing and the trunk together. The lisence plate bracket it equally as important and we will need to get him one of those right away anyway. If no one volunteers, I'll just get it from dave b and have it mailed directly to Jose. SO LET US KNOW RIGHT AWAY!!!

As far as having and aftermarket wing molded. Jose actually has a nice wing for sale on his site Ionicdynamics.com. I would imagine someone will have to buy it befor he molds it or if you all want a specific wing, you'll have to but what you want and consult Jose directly to find out if he'll do it for you. I would say lets stick to the stock wing for now because everyone will have different tastes for aftermarket wings. The stock wing is pretty much universally liked and I've already spoken to him about the stock wing.

Remember to post or PM me with your intentions so I can tell Jose and we can all have an idea of what needs to get done.

Dennis should send him the wing, cuz hes alot closer, less cost incurred in that process if hes willing. Id be willing tho mail my lisence plate bracket, i just gotta get it out....i'll post/pm tommrow.

 

Wouldn't the stock spoiler have to be Carbon Fiber also? It wouldn't look good without it...and a different color

 

This is what wea er talking about... the CF trunk w/the cf spoiler as well. We should have an option to have the CF trunk w/or w/out the cf spoiler.

Oh yeah... dont knwo if this was mentioned, but since most of these peeps may not put the hamburger emblem back on, can you ask your connection to remove that dip right above the license plate area?

 

Since the last time we posted about this. I used my own money and bought a stock wing and lisence plate bracket to send to Jose at Ionic DYnamics to help him finish the 5th Gen CF trunk & wing project and to get an update from him as to how the project is coming. I havent heard from him in almost 3 weeks! Hes not answering e-mails, text messages or voice-mails! Does anyone know whats going on? Anyone in Cali who lives by him who can go check him out or tell us whats going on? I hope hes ok. Hes got a few 5th Gen guys deposits for this project including mine and a separate investment that I made to get him the parts he needed for the project and hes not communicationg with us like he should. Whats the deal w/Jose at Ionic Dynamics?!?!? Help out if you can...

EZE Maxima claims to have spoken to him within the last couple of days. I'll see if I can get in contact with him today and give you guys another update on our project if theres something to update.

I finally spoke to Jose... He was so swamped w/work that he was unable to get back to us until now. Anyway.... The mold for the CF trunk will be done within the next week or so... look for a prototype CF trunk by mid-September I would say. I also sent him an OEM 5th Gen wing. I originally told him to just wrap it in CF for me alone but he says he will actually make a mold for it so there will be an option for you guys to get a CF wing along with your CF trunk.... for a few extra bucks of course! I will post again with pricing after I speak to Jose again.

In the mean time, lets get a roll call for those guys who put down the $200 deposit for the CF trunk!

How much weight difference are we talking about. Since my system I installed my rear is heavy and trying to decide to lighten it up. But pics are worth a thousand words so i can't wait for the pics.

Stillen/ABS style one. I'm shipping out the ABS lip out to Jose as soon as he gives me his addy. Its kinda hard to communicate with him, as hes mega bussy. But in the last msg I got from him, he told me he will do it and he will just need a lip to basically copy over. I will eighter take mine off and send it to him, or just buy another one and send it to him.

 

How much is the deposit again. I am really thinking about this.
