I changed the plugs at 45K and flushed the transmission @ 20K. The trans flush is a cheap preventive maintemance and I highly recommended that you should replace w/synthetic oils, such as RedLine/Amsoil products.

The manual says tranny oil should be changed every 30,000 miles.

It's not necessary to replace at 20k especially when using Amsoil tranny fluid. I have a comparison picture of Amsoil and conventional tranny fluid after 50k. Amsoil still looked super clean compared to conventional which looked black. I'll see if I can find that picture and post it.

I know it's probably not necessary to change it at 20K interval but this practice is a preventive maintenance in my book, for the auto-trans.
After 20K under the Redline fluids, I noticed a change in color w/the new Amsoil oils running through the flushing system. Now, the change in color does not neccessary dictate whether the oil is still fresh or not...only if you sent it out for proper oil analysis. Since I live in NortherEastern location, the variant of temperature changes and also I often taken my car for a long trip, justified why I flushed out the system that often. It is a cheap insurance until I install the trans cooler in the future to perhaps prolong the oil life.
