AE Pedal Installation...help

I checked out the how to and it's clear getting the brake and clutch pedal cover on is a *****( I spent 30 minutes trying to get them on with failure and blood ). Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks. Also how do you get the accelerator pedal off? Thanks..

Go to..

Go to custommaxima.com there is a pretty good write up on installing the AE pedals. As far as having difficulty I had no problem what so ever. I got lucky. One trick I did was bring my wifes hairdryer down to the garage and I heated up the pedal covers quite a bit before atempting the install. The heat made them very pliable. I dident remove the cover off the Gas pedal I just intalled the whole assembly fairly easy. Actually the Gas pedal arm after install made the gas pedal feel a little stiffer in a positve way better throttle response. Just a little uncomfortable getting down there on your back.

SWEEETTT!! Got them on I'll post pictures soon...One more Q about the accelerator, when you ordered your AE accelerator did it come with just the metal pad or the whole unit, accel arm metal pad, etc.?? cuz I just got the metal pad and it doesn't seem to fit?? I spoke with Jerry Rome Nissan and they said it should just clip on.

Here's the part# you want. Straight off my invoice from the local dealer bought 04/2003.
Part# 180054Y900 Desc *Lever
This is the entire assemble, the arm and the AE gas pedal, which is needed for the 2000/01. The pad only works for the 2002/03 and using CustomMaxima's instructions.

Well...I put up the AE accelerator part for sale in the sale forum because I just got the metal part and not the whole pedal like I need for my 00, so I have to order that now. This piece is perfect for 2k2 and 2k3 though, check out custommaxima.com for 2k2/3 directions. Take a look, the part is brand new all the info in in the parts forum.
