Rust free grille inserts

Since I have nothing better to post today...
Here's pics of my custom grille inserts. I used galvanized steel gutter guards from Home Depot (they will not rust, since they are galvanized) primercoated them with primer for galvanized metal (many paints will not stick to galvanized steel) and then painted them to match my OEM grill color....They are custom cut (by me) to fit flush against the back of the OEM grill so they look stock....not flashy, not all the noticeable, but I like the look and only spend $10 doing it, unlike Grille-tec and all those others (many of which rust)

I like it behind the upper grill. I have Grille-tech inserts in the lower grills (and they are rusting) and don't like the whole upper grill replaced with the mesh, but I like your look.

mine are attached with zip ties (3 for each side of the upper grill and 4 for the lower).....the grills are VERY secure, in fact as a test I gave them a heavy push and they didn't move at all. They are attached tight and I put the zip ties in "stealth" locations...the only ones that you can see are the 2 outer ones on the lower grill....can you see the three holding on each side of the drivers grill in the pic above? I doubt it

They don't just "slide" down, I custom-cut mine to fit perfectly....

I have that bottom valence thing too, that took about 20min to do since the edges kept cutting my fingers..What was the name of the color paint you used? It looks silver from afar..

Maybe i'm just lucky, but i've had my grille-tech on for over a year now and I haven't seen any rust yet.

The color is Dupli-color "Honda Graphite Gray"....It actually is almost a dead-on match with the OEM grill....in the pics for some reason the flash on my camera went off so there's some glare that makes it look silver.....

Yeah, I really like the look on a black max. I'm not surprised you were complimented.

Did you make any type of pattern (out of paper or cardboard) for cutting your grille inserts?

no...no pattern....I made basic measurements and then just sat out by the car with wire snips and made a cut, tried it out, made a cut, tried it out, etc etc.....when it fit right I painted it and then installed...
